Ageism in the job market

The job market is one of the areas in which ageism is clear and tangible. Laws and regulations determine employment policy based on chronological age alone, thus representing forms of discrimination. The negative stereotype of the older population perceives aging workers as unable to adapt, accept change, develop, acquire new expertise and skills, and are low in productivity and efficiency. This section of ‘A Site for All Ages’ presents sources on the manifestation of ageism in the job market.
